Am I Normal Yet? Book Review

Am I Normal Yet? By Holly Bourne ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Am I Normal Yet? is the first book in The Spinster Club series. It follows Evie as she starts at a new college, makes new friends, forms the spinster club and dates a few boys. Evie is also diagnosed with OCD and in her old school she
was badly bullied for it so moving schools gives her a fresh start.

I really adored the way what OCD was written about and the layout of the book was really clever. I haven’t really read a book before that dealt with
mental health and I have agreed with the way it was touched upon. As Evie makes
new friends and she drifts away from old ones she struggles to tell her new friends
about her OCD because she doesn’t know how they will react. However, this
becomes one of the main problems of the novel as the is being slowly taken off
her medication and struggling with her OCD again.

I loved the Spinster Club idea and I might actually steal it for my friends!
In the Spinster Club the three girls discuss all things feminism which was done
really clearly and in a way that is easy to understand. I really respected this
because it is raising ideas around feminism to a YA audience in a simple
manner.

This book is raw and unsugar coated which made it so powerful and really
special. I would recommend it to you guys!
